Being from a family where your father has worked in the oil field you tend to move around a lot due to transfers. My first move was when I was in second grade I was mortified at first, but then after sixth grade things started to get easier when making friends. I had moved to North Dakota and had to adapt relatively fast to the winters and how most of the population talked. After living in North Dakota I had experienced the worst culture shock of my life when I moved to South Texas. I had to adapt to a lot of new things I wasn 't always accustomed too. Living in smaller towns it was kind of a privilege that there was so many choices to choose from when it came to extra curricular activities. When volunteering in community events I had learned how to communicate with people and with that strength I have a much easier time talking to people. This has really helped me gaining confidence that I really can do whatever I set my hart on. Adapting to new things I really think helps you in life because you learn how to change to live or work in a certain place. I volunteered to help with the community musical by being stage manager and like I had said before was inducted into NHS my sophomore year as well. I find it really important to do extra-curricular activities because you meet new people helping out with your community and it builds up a college application as well. I remember my mom always saying you should sign up for that or join that club it will look good on a college application and you could even get a scholarship for it. I really try my best to do as many things possible that I am offered not only because it would loo good on application, but also for the experience. One thing about me is I love to try new things and that 's what helped me decide what I wanted to do for a living. After stage managing a musical for theatre I had realized that, that was my niche and I really enjoyed the challenge of being a stage manager.
