I value the opportunity to apply to such a highly esteemed program. It has always been a goal of mine to live and work in Washington, DC. I find it to be an incredible city of individuals with great ambition. I am applying to the Leadership and the American Presidency Institute, specifically, because I find the American Presidency to be the most intriguing job in the world. It fascinates me that one individual can have so much power yet be considerably constrained at the same time. Being a part of this program would provide me with new opportunities as it pertains to my educational career. I have never attended a school that was not in my home state, and while my education has benefited me greatly, I feel that there is much more to see and learn. I have visited many cities, but only for short periods of time which does not allow for the submersion …show more content…
This program would give me the opportunity to engage with individuals who hold the same interests as me yet possess a different perspectives. I recognize the importance of learning from those of different subcultures and I consider this opportunity as a way to gain knowledge from other viewpoints and increase my understanding of the world. I hope to eventually live in Washington and would like have professional networks already in place. Your program will allow me to make connections that will assist me later on in life as a pursue law school and seek employment. I plan on attending law school in Washington after I graduate and this is one reason I endeavor to be a part of your program.
