Essay On Why Guns Should Be Banned

Do you think guns should be banned in the United States? According to the National center for Injury Prevention and Control, “Every day on average, 55 people kill themselves with a firearm, and 46 people are shot or killed in an accident with a gun.” My own experience supports this viewpoint. My grandmother easily feels threatened by guns. Once when she was going to get out of her car, somebody put a gun to her head. However, he fled quickly because of a crowd of people. Guns can be scary and dangerous. IN this kind of situation, children and elderly people can easily get scared. I believe guns should not be allowed in the United States for four reasons: homicide and suicide, unintentional shooting, medical cost, and the protection of children. First at all, we should think about the many different ways people get killed in our society. We should also watch the news and look at the statistics about it. The biggest part of population are in pre-schools, schools and colleges. Why is this so important to me? Crime always happens in places like pre-schools and colleges were it is easy to enter.
