They attempt to bring all the races (particularly blacks and whites) together by teaching about their different cultures, but they do not try to directly fix the problems that cause disadvantage for those of minority races. While it is necessary for everyone to gain an understanding of each other’s perspective if we are ever to reach social equality, it is also necessary that everyone have the same advantages and disadvantages as their peers. The best way to do this is by eliminating those things which create disadvantage or compensating for those that cannot be eliminated. Unless this is done, there will always be strife caused by resentment of the others privilege.

Severe economic distress can cause an individual to be more likely to commit a crime in order to meet their needs because, there lack of resources causes them to see no other way to get what they need. This in turn causes the police and people of a higher class to be suspicious of the poor. It also causes higher paying companies to not hire lower class workers because, they fear they will be robbed or taken advantage of in some way. Lack of resources and money also makes it difficult to go to college for higher education so they can get a better job.
