I first started reading and writing in preschool, my teacher was very helpful and did everything she could do to help me achieve goals, and become who I am today. When I was younger I would pretend that I could read and I would read to all of my toys. In preschool, my teacher saw me trying to read so she came over to me and started to help me sound out the words and form the sentences so that I could read. The first book I read was Dr.Seuss’ “Green, Eggs and Ham.” It soon became my favorite book because it was the only book I could read. After I read my first book I then started to try and read chapter books, I had struggled a little because it was my first real book, my first book was Junie B. Jones. I …show more content…
I think the first time I actually started taking writing seriously in about the third grade when we went a on field trip to a fossil exhibit and then had to write a paper over what we did and what we learned while we were there and then we also had to write a story from a fossil person 's point of view. I had a lot of fun with that story because it allowed me to write whatever came to mind and have fun with the story. Though with loving to write about anything, I first had to fix my writing because I would run on sentences that needed to end and further expand onto another sentence of what I was going to say. I had a lot of trouble learning when and where to end sentences and still get everything I wanted to say to make sense because from a very young age I’ve always been hard on myself to make sure my writing was good enough and anything I’ve ever overcome in life was good enough. I hate letting people down and disappointing them. With writing I am also able to free my mind and let the words spill onto the paper because I am able to express myself and not feel judged in the cruel world we now live in. High school is rough and stressful, elementary school was much simpler and free because no one worried about
