Describe and document a problem that leads directly to the study purpose.
• The problem statement should summarize what we know about an area and what we still do not know. Dissertation research aims to add to our knowledge and fill in some of the “what we still do not know” part of the problem statement.

Therefore, this matter has not been properly addressed by colleges and universities. Therefore, African American women need to have the same opportunities as other women who are in higher academia. Educating African American women is the most cost effective measure that a progressing country can implement to accelerate its rate of growth.
