When someone asks me where are you from with much pride I answer from Mexico. I’m a female Latina prepared to face the challenges of life with the support of my family. The support of their family is something that all Hispanic communities can relate to. Whether in good moments or bad moments your family will always be by your side at all times. What being Hispanic means to me is more than what one can imagine and your life experiences only strengthen that reasoning. What being Hispanic means to me is more than just having pride for your background, it is also being proud of your heritage and values that you learn from your life experiences.
For starters, being Hispanic makes me feel proud of your heritage because Hispanics are known to be hard workers. They are known to always keep on going and not give up easily, to strive above and beyond. Many of our parents came into this country illegally; they put their lives at risk to get here, and have on succeeded and overcome obstacles to give their children a better life, more importantly a chance to an education. However, as a minority in society today, you are viewed by others as an individual who cannot succeed or receive an education, but because of this one would like to …show more content…
In addition, as a female Latina you go through a special event where you convert from a girl to a young lady, ‘Tus Quince”, your 15. From there on forth you become a lady and your values should only strengthen as you grow older. Morals/values that would strengthen through this event would be independence and self-belief. You now become a lady and should act as one, belief in oneself, and be independent to take responsibility for one’s own actions. Have the confidence to continue going forward, and when challenges come your way you know that family will always be there to support
