I picked welding for my career because; I wanted to do something that I thought I could never do in my life. I didn’t think welding was for women but, I learned that women can do anything a man can do to achieve what they want in life. Welding is a great career choice me with a welding skill I can travel the world as a welder, meet new people and even learn more ways on how to weld. As a welder you can make up to $50,000 or more per year depending on which type of welding you are doing. There are many different types of welding my favorite is the MIG but, there is also ARC, TIG, Pipeline, and underwater welding. Welding has been around for a very long starting with the middle ages beginning with the blacksmiths the very first welders in the world. They first welded with a hammer to make all the weapons. The welding process changed over the years and became more modern and more advanced in technology. Astronauts even do welding in outer space. They also work on shipyards repair and building ships to get things well in place. Welding is also done on cruise ship to keep it from sinking and the passengers. Welders even work in NASCAR fixing and repairing the cars when it needs to be fixed if the car is damaged during a race. Many people also us welding as a way of making art such as sculptures and other project around the world.
