Throughout our lives we witness many cases with people living in poverty. Not only are most of these people suffering, there’s not a lot that they can do about it. We take advantage of things that we are able to pay whenever we want or need too. Most of us don’t stop to think about those people that don’t have anything. Poverty is definitely a problem worldwide. You might not think there is really anything that you can do, but there is. If everyone in the U.S. contributed a larger portion of their income to those that live in poverty then we might see poverty being gone completely in just a few years. That would be a very big accomplishment. Think about all the different things that people could do. Those that once lived in poverty would have jobs and houses for their families. We could change people’s entire lives if we just gave a little more than we do.
In my opinion, the world is too greedy to make their best efforts in helping those that don’t have a lot to call their own. We want things we don’t need but we could be using our money to benefit others rather than always upgrading the things that we do have. I don’t understand how we could be so selfish. Why do five-year-olds have the latest versions of the iPhone, on top of their tablets, computers, and iPods? Do we really need …show more content…
Poverty isn’t just a problem that is happening in our backyards, it’s happening everywhere. This is a worldwide problem and you have probably seem things about it in other articles and on TV. We don’t realize all the things that people are going through. There are people that haven’t eaten anything in days, and there are people that only get a few bites or bread for dinner or maybe even for the whole day. This is happening all over the world, and we can help.
