Essay On Unjust Civil War

The Civil War does not conform to the just war theory cannot be considered a just war. The first reason why the civil war was an unjust was is that civilians are being attacked. “ As the military conflict escalated into a total war in which traditional separation of civilians and military disappeared, some civilians hid in the cellars when their communities became battle ground” ( Jean beaked). That’s when the civil war became a total war civilian communities were being attacked. The civilians were involved in the war in order for the war to be a just war civilians should not be targeted. In additionally “civilians in the war zone later would become unwilling participants and victims of the wars, expanding scope and horror” (nps.gov). This says that even if the civilians didn’t want to be part of the war if they lived hear there they were part of it. …show more content…
“ the civil war was started because of uncompromising differences between the free and the slave states over the power of the national government to prohibit slavery in the territories that had not become states” ( the civil war.com) . This says that the war started because the north and the south did not agree on whether or not slavery should be allowed in their territories. This means that the north didn’t want slavery, but the south did. The matters because the north went to war for the right in tension because they wanted to get rid of the slavery unlike the other side. In fact the north was “arguing for greater states’ rights and those arguing that the federal government needed to have more control” (civil war.com). This says that the north wanted people to have rights and the south wanted the government to have more of the control. Hereby, that the North wanted what was best for the people and the south wanted to be controlling. Therefore, People should have rights and not have people telling them what they should do and what not
