Twenty One Pilots is a band containing two current members; Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph. Both of them were born in Columbus, Ohio. The band actually be three members; Tyler Joseph, Chris Salih and Nick Thomas. Before Tyler even knew Josh, Josh was invited to a Twenty One Pilots concert by the previous drummer which is when they fatefully met. Eventually, in 2011, Chris and Nick left due to schedule trouble. Josh used to play in a band known as House of Heroes when he too left that band. Twenty One Pilots have made a total of four studio albums – one was released when is was Chris, Nick and Tyler while the other three were all Josh and Tyler. I’ve also heard something about the Alien Clique but I have no information about that. Their songs have a purpose; that purpose is to help people think and to inspire happiness of what they believe in. As for their music style and genre, well, it’s such an assortment. There’s piano, keytar, drums, ukulele, singing and even sometimes a synthesizer. The Skeleton Clique and even Josh and Ty have difficulty labeling their genre. It’s a mix of alternative, rap, poetry, indie, hip hop, and electropop. Though they aren’t considered a Christian band, many of their songs have messages about God, mainly because all members (current and past) are Christian. And that’s just one great thing about them, is that, they’re such a diverse band that you most likely get a little bit of almost every genre. Most people would likely call them depressing or dreary, which, I guess in a way is sort of true. Tyler plays this character known as Blurryface. Blurryface is supposed to represent the demons that you battle when you have depression, anxiety, anorexia or any other mental illness. He acts like the little voice in your head telling you to do horrible things to yourself and possibly others.
