This Amendment came through the English men. Many men owned guns to defend themselves and their families, and also in some cases, to get food. When the colonists came to America, they kept their heritage from England with them. Some citizens think only think solders in war should have the right to use and/or own guns. Others think that more people should own guns to defend themselves, and to live out the right granted by the Constitution. Although, both sides have helped our country form into what it is today.
The meaning and interpretation of the Second Amendment has changed over time. People used guns for self- survival many, many years ago. Now people use guns to kill other citizens and cause harm. These shooters do this to hide something, “get even” with others, try and support themselves, or ovoid jail. Of course, this is never the way to go. The only reason to use a gun is to hunt, but even hunting isn’t the right choice sometimes because some hunters shoot and kill endangered animals every day.
Since the question of whether or not citizens should own guns has been a resent problem, I find the Heller vs. the District of Columbia (in 2008) a very suitable case for this
