Sir Percy Blakeney and Lady Blakeney had many strengths and weaknesses throughout this story. A strength of Percy was his ability to deceive everyone. Lady Blakeney’s strengths included her wit and intelligence. Percy’s weakness was that he was uncharacteristically, cold attitude at times. This behavior of his was no good for his already struggling marriage. A weakness of Lady Blakeney’s was her ability to hide behind a mask of contempt. We see this when she revels the truth about Marquis de St. Cyr to Percy, here he reacts with a shallow attitude. Percy’s different traits affected his life in many ways; because his outward appearance doesn’t fit the stereotype, he was able to secretly evolve as The Scarlet Pimpernel without anyone even knowing.
