Pros of Electric cars Did you know that by 2020 all gas stations will have been replaced by electric charge stations, this is thanks to electric cars taking the world by storm. So why are electric cars so popular? Aside from the obvious environmental benefit, EV’s are much safer due to their higher crash and battery safety standards. There are also many financial benefits including federal and local tax credits, as well as environmentally sustainable manufacturing practices. Electric cars are still a relatively new concept and do have their flaws, however, Electric car are in many ways superior to petroleum cars with significantly improved efficiency, exceptional

But it’s more complicated than that, many people are left in the dark about how MPGE or miles per gallon equivalent work. The MPGE for a car is based on one factor: where the owner lives, for instance, if he lives and charges in a low polluting rural area his MPGE will be similar to that of a gas car. However, if he lives and charges in a highly polluting urban area his MPGE will be dramatically increased when compared to gas cars (US Department of Vehicle Technologies Office 2). This is due to the low rate of pollution in rural areas which equals a low effect to the environment, whereas in urban areas with a high rate of pollution an electric car is going to significantly positively impact the environment. Another overseen environmental benefit is environmentally friendly method manufacturers use to assemble and maintain their factories, for instance using solar energy to power equipment and lights and avoiding using harmful chemicals in any way. Also their suppliers are very conscious of how they extract materials and transport …show more content…
These vehicles are more environmentally responsible and leave a very small carbon footprint. Secondly, in most cases, are cheaper to own than gas powered cars and in the case of the Nissan Leaf practically free to lease. Lastly, these cars comply with much higher safety regulations and even a set of EV specific standards, making them marginally safer than gas cars. While there may be a few hiccups along the way electric cars are safer, financially justifiable, and increasingly more environmentally responsible than a traditional gas car.

I have listed all the pros of the EV, but with good impact there is also a bad impact. What the corporations do not want consumers to know are the evil side of things. This phenomenon is called green washing. Green washing is “the term for ads and labels that promise more environmental benefit than they deliver is “greenwashing” (Dahl 2010). An investigation was done in the areas of types of benefits suggested by many consumer trends, and the future of hybrid technology. A focus group of people who in recent times bought cars, both hybrids and non-hybrids, revealed what consumers look for in their cars. Study of the needs of hybrid technology helped determine how feasible widespread change to hybrids would be in the future. With all the information taken into account, I concluded that hybrids have several issues that offset their fuel efficiency. Their higher cost both turns consumers away and makes the vehicles a less attractive economic investment.…

Automobiles have not changed much in the last 60 years. While they have gotten faster, safer, and more efficient, there have not been any major changes in the technology used since the first cars were brought to market in the early 1900s. They still use an internal combustion engine, use gasoline as fuel, emit exhaust that harms the environment, require fueling up at gas stations, need oil changes, and have many moving parts, making it more likely something breaks and needs repaired. It is time to revolutionize the automotive industry and fix all of these problems and more. There is one type of car that can do that: electric cars.…

And even if there is the use of some of the electric cars that do emit some gas because of the small tank that they have, it doesn’t even compare with the size of those Ram trucks. Another great thing about electric cars is that they can be powered by wind power or solar radiation, this means that you can use your car by absorbing the natural energy that comes from the sun or the wind. Alternative fuels should be used more than fossil fuels such as solar power, electric cars, and windmills are much more efficient than fossil fuels. They do not produce CO2 into the air, unlike fossil fuels they put our environment into harm's way, and they do not help stop CO2 emission. Electric cars are a good example as an alternative fuel they don’t waste gas or don’t have exhaust which is good because they don’t produce CO2 into the air. For example the electric car company tesla, they also make sports cars like the Tesla model s, it is a sports car that is powered with lithium batteries and have electric horse power and electric torque what that means is when u put your foot on the pedal u get all that power instantly, gas cars don't do that.…

Consumers that have short travel distances to an airport or work may very well benefit from an electric car. Considering the monthly sales are steadily increasing for electric cars it shows that consumers are more aware of the environmental and political impact fuel driven cars have in the United States. Automobile manufacturers are starting to see the potential growth in this area and are providing more funding to research and development of better electric car options ultimately providing consumers with less limitations making electric cars more desirable (Tanner, Jr. & Raymond, 2012). As fuel prices are currently low in the United States it is not so much a challenge to produce an electric car in order to meet consumer needs as it is to sell it at a price point that makes it worth buying over a standard fuel…
