One of the articles published in the Manhattan Mercury, examines the different bides and proposals for the new city auditorium in great detail. Another advertisement published in the Manhattan Chronicle discussed certain ads for the bids. Some of the bids for the new city auditorium were sent out to two different Midwestern contractors and written up in trade journals according to the new city manager during this time. The auditorium would house many office building, including new additions to the municipal buildings within the town. The proposal for a new auditorium also fans further than just an auditorium, within the proposal, there were plans for multiple buildings, such as a fire station, and extensions of the jail and dining facilities. All the different bids that were being proposed for the new city auditorium were all designed for different aspects, and systems that would permit maximum flexibility which would provide more satisfactory than asking bids dedications from the original base bid. Even though there were many different avenues for the new auditorium that would allow Manhattan to be set apart from many towns throughout Kansas.
