Essay On The Movie Norman

After watching the movie Norman, I think a great impact was left on me. I started to think about how I would feel if I was in Norman’s shoes and I realized that what Mike did must’ve meant a lot to Norman. Norman had been treated as a loner that no one wanted to befriend his whole life and Mike’s friendship must’ve made a difference to him. People like Norman have to live their lives feeling unwanted and lonely. They don’t have anyone to talk to and sadly have to live their lives in isolation. They might actually want to befriend people but can’t because they’re being judged on a daily basis. If I was in their shoes I would be miserable and lonely. I couldn’t imagine a life without my friends or family and it’s very unfortunate that some people …show more content…
God created us to be together, not alone. This movie moved me because I remembered the incident with Chris and I realized that I should never forget stories such as these. These stories are experiences that help people learn and grow. It was even more powerful because it was a true story. This is why my favourite part was when Norman was revealed at the end. This just wrapped up the story really well and it reminded me that this was all true and that an incident like this can happen to anyone. The song “In Heaven’s Eyes” could be used to describe Norman in my opinion. The song is about Heaven not judging people. In the eyes of heaven there are no losers everyone is the same and are God’s children. Norman was seen by others as an outcast who wasn’t loved but through heaven’s eyes Norman is lovely and loved. God loves all the ‘Norman’s’ of this world because they are his children. God made everyone intentionally and there are no mistakes or unlovely people on this earth. Even though through the eyes of others some people are seen as outsiders God doesn’t feel that way. He unconditionally loves and cares for every one of his

For decades, popular novels have been published and years later followed with a film. Although the movie tends to portray imagery, the course of events in the book tend to contrast to those of the film. This became abundantly clear when I read the book and watched the movie, The Natural. In both the novel and the film, we learn about the life of a baseball player named Roy Hobbs, who was born with a talent and was given the ability to pursue his goal of life. Although his mindset was determined to break all the records in the game, many obstacles stood in his path ultimately skewing his priorities and driving him towards a path only ending with failure.…

"Hoosiers," a movie that tells the unlikely story of a tiny high school basketball team that wins the State Championship in hoop-mad Indiana in the early 1950s. Some people consider "Hoosiers" the #1 sports movie of all time. The screening was followed by a discussion led by Consul General Michael Keays during which participants discussed leadership, motivation, and team building as depicted in the movie and came to a conclusion that "Hoosiers" is not just a basketball movie, but a movie about life and the lessons it teaches. This event was part of the monthly movie series held at IRC…

When dealing with a popular story such as The Wizard Of Oz, coming across different versions of this narrative happens quite frequently and causes differences within the plot to arise. In Franks Baum’s, The Wizard of Oz published in 1990, Dorothy is caught in a tornado’s path, which ultimately carries her and her house to the Land of Oz. After venturing out on a journey to meet the Wizard of Oz, who was suggested to help Dorothy return home, she meets some friends who decide to accompany her on the trip in hope that the wizard can grant their wishes too. As a result, the wizard goes through great lengths to reassure each of Dorothy’s companions that they have in fact received the traits they desire and Dorothy gets her wish of being transported back home to Kansas. In contrast, in Vincent Fleming’s film production in 1939, Dorothy encounters chaos due to a tornado that causes a loose window to hit her in the head, knocking her unconscious.…

Thelma and Louise, a film by Carolyn Ann Khouri, trails the liberations of two working class women in the 90’s. These women plan a weekend away from the men in their lives due to the fact that Thelma’s husband is a misogynistic man who feels that a woman’s job consists only of housework and cooking. In the first scene of the movie Thelma wants to ask her husband, Darryl, for permission to go on the trip with Louise. He yells at her and she quickly changes the subject. In my opinion, this is one of the most crucial scenes in the entire film because it outlines the sexism and discrimination that these two women will face throughout the course of the movie.…
