Reflection: Crash Movie 2004
The movie, Crash, represents scenarios of individuals who come from different backgrounds. The lives of the people crash into each other as they strive to confront racism. All through the movie, various characters are heard uttering humiliating words concerning other people who come from different races. The movie characters exhibit nervousness whenever individuals of other races are around them, and as a result, they end up blaming the ethnical background differences for the miseries they undergo in their lives. Graham is romantically involved with Ria who also happens to be a police detective. They are both ethnically inconsiderate a characteristic that they exhibit throughout the movie. Graham always makes insensitive comments concerning the race of Ria, for example, when her mom called him, he is heard referring Ria as a white woman, and in some other instances he refers Ria as “Mexican.” On the other hand, Ria ridicules the Asian origin of Kim when they get involved in a crash an affirmation that they both have racially inclined.
Graham after the car accident is heard saying that individuals ordinarily want to crash into one another so that they can get some human contact and despite saying, he is not seen touching any person. Through Graham, some double-Consciousness has been realized; scenarios where he is shown to be the opposite of his character. He is least affected by happenings around him, for example, regardless of everything that occurs he accepts and moves on with life.
