How do Thomas’s memories affect his characteristics? Thomas’s memories affect his character by giving him traits such as bravery and confidence. “Chuck, I… I think I’ve been here before” (Dashner 35) “worried he’d mess up this new sense of being encouraged, eradicate the reassuring calm that filled his heart” (Dashner 35). This shows that Thomas feels at ease in the Glade, which makes him feel more confident in doing certain things, such as looking at Ben during his changing, and entering the Maze, which are both not allowed. “They needed memories.…

The theme of The Maze Runner is It is always better to work together than fight over the decisions that should be made and stay individual. And that represents the character Thomas because hes the one who started all the changes including the teamwork. One example the song above represents the theme is because it says "It's hard to fit in, When you're on the outside, Feels like someone's getting to my head, Was it somethin' I did, or just somethin' I said? " The quote above also gave a good example of how in the Glade the creators had control of their heads. for example, the Gladers not having any memories.…

It takes place in The Glades, the center of a giant maze where Thomas has just arrived without any of his memories. He and a group of boys must figure out how to escape the maze. Before I read this book, I had watched the movie many times (the book was way better), but never thought to read the book. I can relate to Thomas the most because when I moved to Germany, it was like I didn’t know anything.…
