In a nation called panama , which exist in the land once known as North America , there are twelve districts. Previously, there were thirteen districts, but because of the start of a revolution against the capitol, the thirteenth district was eliminated. Because of this attempted revolution, the capitol holds the annual Hunger games. The Hunger games is literally a fight to death in which each of the twelve districts sends two contestants , one male and one female. Being entered into the games means either fortune and fame or death. Katniss Everdeen turns out to be the female and Peter Mellark is the male from district twelve. This year the games take place in an arena which has a lake, streams, woods, and a field, which Katniss and the other districts are afraid to …show more content…
However, the day has come and all the contestants are taken to the arena. In the middle of the place is the supply area, has a big pile of supplies. By the first day, twelve contestants are killed. Instead of Katniss running towards the supply area she runs away for safety. Katniss realizes that the other contestants have found her, and she hides in a tree realizing that peter was with them. She slept in the tree until the bad guys left. The next day Katniss saw a little girl name Rue on a tree that had a nest of tracker jackers on it. Katniss used the nest of tracker jackers to get rid of the contestants that were after her. Katniss runs away after using the nest but eventually gets stung by a tracker jackers to. Rue takes care of Katniss while she was unconscious from the sting. Later when Katniss wakes up her and Rue teams up and destroy the other contestants supplies. Rue is later killed by the contestants from district one. Katniss later finds Peter , when a rule changed, allowing two contestants from the same districts to win. Peter was wounded by Cato in the leg , while trying to protect
