The First Amendment states “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” The establishment of the Amendment allows for the prevention of Censorship by the Government. Censorship by the government would take away a large amount of rights for all people. The First Amendment is important as it allows for freedom of expression in entertainment, speech, and politics.

The first amendment gives freedom of politics as people are able to use the internet and express how they feel about the president, current policies, congress, and spread awareness on why certain things will be good or bad. For Instance if someone were to disagree with President Trump they would have the right to express their negative view on the internet and as long as they do not threaten to harm anyone they will be free to express themselves. With the protection of anti-censorship laws and the first amendment people all over the political spectrum whether they be a Communist, Socialist, the member of a Social justice group, Moderate, Republican, Alt-Right or other white supremacist groups they are allowed to spread their political ideologies as long as they don’t hurt anyone.
