What is the controversy between creationism and evolutionism? By definition according to Merriam-Webster “a doctrine or theory holding that matter, the various forms of life, and the world were created by God out of nothing and usually in the way described in Genesis”( Merriam-Webster) On the other hand evolutionism is defined as “a theory that the differences between modern plants and animals are because of changes that happened by a natural process over a very long time” (Merriam-Webster) Evolutionists and Creationist both have their different views on the source of the existence of our universe and all that is man and nature. How we came to exist has been the center of debate amongst scholars, theologians and scientist for some time. The idea that god created all that exist was perfectly accepted by people as the explanation. Giving us a representation of Creationism using with the bible, although there are many different sub-topics to Creationism, Ken Ham’s explanation of it seems to be quiet popular. Ken Ham, who is currently the founder and CEO of the highly praised Creation museum, and one of the most demanded Christian speakers in the US and supporter of Genesis as stated by the Answers in Genesis biography of him. He is also known for his argument with Bill Nye the science guy in 2014, on Creation vs. Evolution, in this debate each attempts to prove how they are right. Bill Nye, as Wikipedia mentions, was in this debate to try and show how Ken Ham’s theories are inaccurate, while Ken Ham was concentrating on receiving enough publicity and money for his replica of the ark, meant to open the 7th of July 2016.
