The Book Thief is about, a young girl, named Liesel Meminger who is given away by her mother when her brother dies. in the beginning of the movie she finds a book called the grave diggers handbook in the snow that represents the last time she saw her mother. The young girl could not read and was taught by, her foster father, Hans in their basement. When she learned how to read she became in love with books. In the middle of the book Liesel learns the true meaning and power of words and decides to steal The Dream carrier from the Mayor’s Wife library and becomes to be known as “The Book Thief”. The author gives translation and statistics from that time period. For example, “In 1933, 90 percent of Germans supported Hitler.” Even though there were some pros to this movie there were also some cons. I didn’t like how quick the events in the movie was happening.
