We have to fight for our place in the world today. The world sees what we are trying to do, but they don't truly hear the message we are trying to say. However, we do not need to use violence. As Martin Luther King said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that". Our words have more power than anything else; however, we must stick together. The more of us that are chanting "#BlackLivesMatter" the more they will hear us. Some people disagree with this movement and instead say “All lives matter”. We need to get them to understand that although all lives definitely matter, this movement points out that black lives matter too. Unfortunately, at this point in time, the African-American community is constantly being targeted on. We need to bring up all of our brothers and sisters so that all lives can matter. Whether through peaceful protests, social media, or posters, we need to enlighten those around us. Only after we achieve true equality can we stand together in chant “all lives
