Essay On Texas Vacation

It was the summer of 2013, I went on a vacation to see my family in Mexico and to my unfortunate luck it was the worst summer ever! Not only did I got sick from eating food off the street stands and had to babysit my younger brother and take care of my mom as well, I was unfortunate enough to be hit by a drunk driver at a party. I should have known it wasn’t going to be a good year because before leaving we didn’t get plane tickets so we drove there, the car didn’t have a/c, and we got stuck in traffic twice. At the end I wasn’t sure what had happen, was there a major accident or were the drivers being nosey causing the traffic? It was 110 degrees, we had to pull over because our …show more content…

Although, yet again, those plans were ruined. On July 17 there was a wedding downtown and I went with my family, we went to church and ate; they were serving the food with beer for those who wanted some. Unrelevant to mention the alcohol now, since the rest of the day was normal, however because people were drinking so early there were more drunk people than sober ones. I was headed to the store to buy something to eat when a friend of mine stopped me, we began to talk and have a good time, next thing I knew I was surrounded by people looking at

Texas is a thriving state, but it wasn’t always that way. When Texas was just a Spanish colony, it almost failed. Spain had established a few forts in Texas and had sent explorations to claim land all over Texas. In the year 1682, French explorer named Rene-Robert Cavalier, Sieur de La Salle established Fort St. Louis in east Texas and that made Spain nervous. In response to this fort, Spain made a plan to scare off the French.(Background Essay)…

If Texas even tried to become its own country they will lose money, no citizens would get any help from the government and some families would starve to death, they might lose jobs even people for example some immigrants help us financially and if they see a big change they would either move to a different state from the United States, or they would go back to their own country. In the last decade or so, many important issues that were debated did not have much of an impact on local communities. However, one issue that is being debated today that will directly affect local communities is the policy on illegal immigration and how to control it. As we all know, immigrants looking for a new beginning founded this country and it has since been known as the country of second chances. The thought of the American Dream is what convinced so many people in centuries past to immigrate to America. This same reason is why today in America there are a large number of legal and illegal immigrants hoping to achieve this same dream.…

Visiting Florida taught me many skills on being independent, mentally, and how easy and fun it is just to be to yourself sometimes. It all started Christmas eve when I got home to find my presents from “Santa” there before we even went to bed.
