According to Marcia, psychological moratorium is “a period of time in the life of adolescents who are involved in a continual crisis, who continue to search for an identity and who have not made any commitments” (PAGE 161). So in this stage, an adolescent is exploring alternatives and has not made or is not ready to make a commitment. Jane is involved in many clubs that all focus on different aspects of school such as academics, involvement, and athletics.
