The advancements in technology with the study of science and math would bring different meanings in wars to come. Aviation was just starting in World War One, by World War Two many new changes and improvements were made. The submarines and ships were bigger, safer, and could go deeper. These are just a few inventions that have been made yet there are a lot more that have yet to be named. World War Two was a time for imagination to thrive and new creations to be tested. To become more self sufficient Hitler made German industries produce synthetic rubber, which, had been accidentally created in1922 by trying to create antifreeze. During World War Two there was a shortage of rubber in America so any rubber had to be given to the military and war industries. The longer the war went on the more America started using the synthetic rubber. A tree in Brazil created the latex rubber that was used in many things, however, with everyone wanting that new material it became scarce to obtain. The trees were planted in Malaysia to continue the production for the Allies. Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor took control of Malaysia and Singapore, thus, gaining all the rubber plants there and the major rubber production industry. Synthetic rubber was made from petroleum from the products of oil refining, specifically, the chemicals butadiene and styrene. By adding different amounts of other elements, like carbon, the rubber would be harder and stuck together more or not. Germany’s needed crude oil to support the movement of the vehicles and war machines, however, crude oil became scarce. The new planes differed from the ones in World War One by all of the new improvements. The new radar technology to know if a plane was in the air around the base and detect messages by others. The V-2 rocket made by the Germans because they were fed up with the price they had to pay due to the Treaty of Versailles. This new rocket was more accurate in hitting its target than the previous ones. The Germans had tried to encode messages but people like Sergeant William F. Friedman decoded them. The United States had also encoded their messages, but the Germans were unsuccessful in decoding them because of the complicated language they used made up by the Navajo Native Americans. Nuclear power was being implemented into the war. The use of nuclear power to make the atomic bombs that was dropped on Japans two largest cities. There were many advancements in the medical field, such as, blood transfusions and immunization shots. The new pesticides that were made also helped keep the bugs from infecting the soldiers with diseases. Many new types of bombs were created, for example, demolition bombs. These types of bombs were used for destroying buildings and other types of structures. Advancements made to tanks from World War One gave these new tanks more armor, faster speed, and a longer distances to travel. The back wheels
