Technological determinism can be associated with a concept, a vision and more widely a current of thought having passed through social sciences in the twentieth century. It suggests that technology is not influenced by society and that sociological evolution inspires technological changes. Technological advances are independent of the society and thus exercise a major role on our lives. In other words, technology is taking the lead on humanity. The Canadian McLuhan is generally associated with this theory because he was one of the most influential actor to this approach. He tried to explain that the needs are created along with the technology. Specifically, the society does not use technology to meet its needs, it is rather the technology creating the desire of citizens.
