Steroid use is an epidemic among athletes, and bodybuilders; but are extremely illegal not only in everyday life but in all sports leagues. Athletes, especially in the MLB, have been kicked out the league just for the smallest use of steroids. Steroids are popular in the sports world, and for recreational use. Steroids are known for short-term problems, and long-term problems, and their tremendous effects on increased muscle mass and strength.
Steroids are an illegal narcotic. Steroids are known for their performance enhancement. They cause increased strength and muscle growth. However, steroids are known for their dangerous and sometimes lethal properties. Short-term effects of steroids are known to cause problems such as anger, impotence, insomnia, and loss of appetite. Steroids are a growth hormone that, without proper direction from a doctor, can be easily abused. The main reason steroids are illegal is the immense amount of health risks behind it. There are long-term side effects of steroids. Long-term effects tend to be very dangerous. Effects can include heart problems, liver problems, kidney failure, cancer, insanity, comatose, and death. Steroids like most illegal narcotics can cause changes in thinking, which is potentially deadly to the person themselves and the people around them. Steroids are famously known to cause extreme anger which is referred to as a "roid rage" which can cause the person to act irrationally. The massive amount of growth hormones being secreted can cause a rapid multiplication of cells which can cause cancer and tumors. Insanity can come from the powerful mood-altering effects that they create such as intense anger. This can be dangerous not only to the person taking them but the people around
