This really concerns her mother M’lynne. She is worried about her daughter’s health and they have an argument. The other ladies gather around to support M’lynne and Shelby through her pregnancy. After the birth of Shelby’s son, she begins to experience kidney failure. Her mother ends up giving her a kidney. Later on Shelby is found unconscious at her home. She ends up in a coma on life support. The family decides to take her off life support and during the funeral toward the end of the service M’lynne has a breakdown in front of the other women which in my opinion was the “Oscar worthy performance of the year”. The ladies comfort her and Annelle informs M’lynne that she will name her baby with Sammy: Shelby. The movie ends on the following Easter where at the picnic and Easter egg hunt Annelle goes into Labor and is being rushed to the hospital. This is my favorite movie of all time, the relationships between these women and their family’s reminded me of my own family. It was a true depiction of life, love, loss and friendship. I GAVE IT 5
