This method of dating is great for someone who travels a lot or for someone who has social anxiety that makes meeting someone for the first time uncomfortable. Online singles dating is hard, so this method makes sense as a nice way to meet multiple people in the comfort of your own surroundings on your own time. The one disadvantage to this kind of dating is that it can be hard to get a true read on a person. For example, according to Match.com, “Men take only 15 minutes to decide if a woman is worth a second date. For women, the clock isn't ticking quite so fast—they ponder whether to get together again for an hour or so.” This means that a quick, over-the-Internet speed date may not leave enough time or context with which to make a rational decision on your compatibility with your date.
