We have bent backwards to do the work that was asked and in return we get checks that can not even afford to feed us or even raise our children to grow up and be someone (Lumumba, 1961, para. 1). Since they don't have any weapons they can not fight back and gain food for family and friends nonetheless themselves. If South America has a chance to get updated resources the US might spring back and ask for them too and say that they helped South America when they were in need so the US should get something in return. Which would be the guns or the updated resources that can be empowering in this case. Therefore the United States may think that because they would be helping South America once they would always need to be owed in return. “European countries quickly acquired the Maxim, while the resisting Africans were forced to rely on outdated guns” (World History, 2009, p. 775). Africans are given no decision but to have outdated weapons. Which creates a disturbance or problem in being able to fight or protect their area because upgraded guns are more efficient to how the world was but they do not have that advantage. Since South America would be vulnerable and the US would be secure and they would have an advantage of power they would try and take over the whole South America instead of just helping and
