Essay On Sonography

I never saw myself in the medial field when I was younger. Never thought of myself putting that much responsibility and pressure on my shoulders. I always thought I’d become a teacher or an interior designer. It wasn’t until I had my own experience with ultrasound that something clicked. I took interest in the idea of being able to help so many in a noninvasive approach. The idea of hurting people to help people didn’t sit easy with me. But, ultrasound is a fantastic method of discovering a problem without any pain on the patient’s behalf. Six years later, here I am soon to graduate from one of the best sonography programs in the country. In a field that is continuously changing, there is always something new to learn. Whether it is new technology, new way of approach, treatment options, or signs of pathology to look out for. Continuing my education in this second year at Jefferson was a great step in the right direction. This year I get to learn another branch of sonography and earn a second specialty under my belt. To even further continue my education, I had the opportunity to attend the Leading Edge Conference last year. It helped me learn to grow and adept leadership qualities. The sessions have great hands on activities and building blocks to break through the shell and see how everyone can be a leader in their own way! Thanks to that program, I have gained more confidence and knowledge to one day step up and be a leader in my career.
