Did you know that currently, Maize USD 266 has not used any snow days. Snow days are used to cancel school on days with bad weather. At this time, there is no plan in place to utilize the leftover snow days. Each school in the district is given three days to use for snow or other weather problems. Maize USD 266 should consider using the three days for field trips, breaks from school, or for fun days at school.
The first way we could utilize the snow days is by going on field trip. One place that Maize South Middle School should go on a field trip is the Sedgwick County Zoo. Students could also take a trip to the Cosmosphere. The field trip would be fun, but also provide a different learning experience. The field trips would also give students a chance to get out of their seats and be active. These are some ideas for ways we could use our extra snow days.

One way to do this is to have fun stations set up around the school; these stations could include: movies, games, sports events, and computer games. We could also have a mini “Bull Rush” held in the school, hosted by Let’s Move Club. The fun days could be motivation for students to do well in classes, because you would only be allowed to participate if you had C’s or higher. The fun days would also allow students to spend time with friends, and it would give teachers time to work in their classrooms. This is the final idea for how we could use our extra snow
