Essay On School Shootings

Around May of 2010, my brother got a new Airsoft gun and was so excited that he finally had a chance to release his anger by shooting at boxes in the backyard. The target practice soon became routine and he got bored of aiming at targets that did not move. He started to joke around about shooting my sister and I with the gun but never went through with the threats. One day in June I was folding laundry and he told me to go to his room. After repeatedly saying no I reluctantly went to his room. He had the gun in his hands looked at me devilishly. He dramatically asked, “are you prepared to die,” and then I heard a loud pop. The sound made me blink and I felt the little pellet trying to push its way into my eye. The accusations occur without solid proof because it is easier to blame something that cannot fight back and there has been proof of a correlation, but correlation does not mean causation. Correlation means that there are violent people who play violent videogames, but the lack of causation means that violent videogames do not trigger psychopathic tendencies in its participants. Also, victims of school shootings and their families can find peace in blaming something for the behaviors of an individual. Sometimes culprits in school shootings commit suicide after the tragedy and there is no justice acted upon that person. Victims are never truly satisfied with the law of the Judicial system, they would much rather know why or what drove people to such
