Did you know that since 2013, there has been over 200 school shootings in America? That is an average of nearly one shooting a week. To be specific about a school shooting there was an incident in Pittsburgh, Pa on December 17th, 2014. This school shooting occurred Sunnyside elementary school. School shootings like this one causes parents to worry about their children’s safety. Which in their defense is totally understandable. Another common question parents ask is, “how can they be more involved to help prevent gun violence in schools, and keep their children safe?” Now the government has become very strict about the laws for guns or weapons being brought on any school grounds. School shootings don’t necessarily means a student brings a gun to school and starts shootings in the school. It doesn’t even have to be a student involved, or even take place in a school. For example, like the school shooting that happened at Sunnyside elementary in Pittsburgh.
