The concept of safeguarding vulnerable adults takes on this involvement of the whole community to keep individuals safe. The concept of safeguarding works best where professionals from different areas work together in an integrated way, with sharing of information to ensure that safety is paramount at all times, but also enables people to be aware of individual risk and allows them to manage those risks in a safe way.
The concept of protection is more about putting in place a plan for protection when an individual has been identified as either suffering or at risk of suffering significant harm as a result of abuse or neglect.

It ensures staff are aware of how to recognise signs and take any appropriate action to prevent abuse occurring. This is reinforced through team meetings and supervision.
My organisation has a safeguarding vulnerable adult’s procedure in place and it is designed to assist and enable us to work in partnership to protect adults from abuse maltreatment and neglect and prevent avoidable harm. My organisation is committed to ensuring all of its clients live their lives free from abuse and fear of aggression and violence. Key to the successful prevention of abuse is an open culture with a genuinely person-centred approach to care underpinned by a zero tolerance policy towards abuse and neglect. My organisation considers any form of abuse as Gross Misconduct. Any member of staff who commits any of the following types of abuse towards a client will be referred by my organisation to the Local Authority, the Police, the CQC/CSSIW, and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
