My friend, lets call him Muhammad, happens to be a real life Romeo. He displays almost every trait that Romeo does in Romeo and Juliet; violent, girls find him attractive, and he moves from girl to girl in a matter of seconds. Muhammad immediately popped into my head when Mr. Ayrault gave us the comparison assignment, but the hard part lied in deciding whether he displayed actions more of a Romeo or a Tybalt because of his violence. After a couple minutes of thinking it occurred to me that Muhammad had dated 8 different girls in the last year without even coming up for air. After thinking of that the answer was obvious. He is a perfect match with Romeo. Romeo remains a very complicated person, he can change his mind on a dime, he can go from lover to murderer like a 2015 Porsche 918 Spider goes from 0-60 (simile). When Romeo kills Tybalt the first thing that come to mind is the Hulk. Bruce Banner (Hulk): a really nice man, an award-winning physicist, and he seems like a normal guy, until he gets mad at least. He has dated 8 girls in the last year and right after he finishes with one he moves right on to the next. When Romeo first sees Juliet at the party he says, “Oh, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! /It seems she hangs upon the cheek of night/like a rich jewel in an Ethiope’s ear…”(1.5.42). He goes on to talk about how beautiful she is and he seems to have forgotten about Roseline who he thought he loved a little bit earlier. If one asks Muhammad to name every girl he has dated, I doubt he can because he moves on so fast without ever looking back just like Romeo did. Muhammad acts like the Romeo of my friend group. He has all of the right qualities to earn that title. I asked him about what he thought about the comparison to Romeo and himself, at first he didn’t agree, but then I gave him all of my reasons and his mind changed immediately. The signs speak for themselves; he is

Particularly, Romeo is at fault because, as a character, he makes rash decisions that result in inferior consequences in the future. Notably, he neglects to tell his parents that he plans to marry Juliet; therefore, he creates a situation in which no one is aware that Romeo and Juliet are wedded. Another key point is that Romeo kills Tybalt for revenge when Tybalt slays Mercutio in the streets of Verona. Earlier in the first act the Prince of Verona notifies the Capulets and Montagues that if they were to ever fight in the streets again than the families would have to pay with their lives. Consequently, Romeo did not assess the seriousness of the situation, and he fought Tybalt in the streets.…

These characters, though good friends, differ in everything from demeanor to views on love. Thus, they become foils for each other in the play. Romeo is as young and idealistic as anyone his age. He is immature and hasty to say the least, but he possesses a passion and fresh outlook that makes him an interesting character to follow throughout the play. Romeo channels his passion in both positive and negative ways in the play, such as when he and Rosaline separated at the beginning of the play, “O brawling love, O loving hate, O anything of nothing first created...…

His passionate nature causes him to often fall under great infatuation, to a point in which he falls into great misery when discovered that he cannot have what he wants. Romeo then isolates himself as a coping mechanism, and begins to lack concern for himself and his actions, causing him to become utterly impulsive.…

The effect this has on the audience is that they want to see whether Romeo is caught so overall makes the scene much more intense. Teenage love is Shakespeare's way of making Romeo and Juliet fall in love so quickly and perhaps is the reason why the play is only four days long. And also that they were being reckless because they were young and never really stopped to think about what they were doing. Friar Lawrence: "Young men's love then lies Not truly in their hearts but in their eyes."…
