In Matthew 6:14, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you”. (NLT) For example, the story of the cruel man that Rob Bell had to conduct a funeral for. Many Christians would find it hard to forgive this man who left his family to live in pain and anger even when he is gone. We must also realize about, how bad of a life this man had lived to do such a thing. Once we find the true meaning for this man’s cruelty and meanness, we can forgive him. Remember hate is something that is learned. To some it is hard for them to go back to the way they once were before becoming hardened. We must learn to forgive, because there may be a reason to why a person does wrong. Just like we have done some wrong, but God has forgiven us. We must do the same to others. The story of the cruel man, is an example of what Bell means by Hell. It is not just a metaphorical hell, but can be a literal hell. Like how Gehenna is an actual hell in Jerusalem because it was a place with wild animals fighting over leftovers, fire burning, and trash
