There should never be a time where in a game no score is kept if the children are playing on an organized team in a league or through the school. When no scores are kept in games, children do not experience the feeling of their hard work paying off with a victory. They also do not learn how to cope with not always winning or getting what they want. By keeping score and having a winner and loser, children can learn how to have fun in the game and they learn that hard work is the key to success. They also learn that they will not always succeed. Up until this point most children are raised believing they can be anything they want to be, and they could even go pro at a certain sport.
