Ultimately, the directors and screenwriters of Remember the Titans established a serious tone throughout the movie because all of the scenes are relatively realistic. For example, the movie takes place during segregation in America, which occurred around the 1950’s. So, many of the events that we're illustrated in the movie actually happened at some point in time. Like when the school was forced to let black and white students go to school together. Overall, the movie centers around how the Titans (football team) handled being integrated. In addition, many of the scenes shots are shot in the same way throughout the movie, which is a high angle. This is most likely to capture the whole scene. Many of the scenes take place on a large football field, so a high angle is need to capture everything. Occasionally, there is a low angle when characters are talking to each other, like when sun shine and Gary were speaking in the locker room. Another time is when Gary and Julius were fighting in the dorm room. Also, one or twice there was bird’s eye view, which was the director wanted to show a whole view of the school; As if to spotlight it. The director uses different camera angles as needed, which isn't frequently so when the camera angle is different the director is trying to enhance the scene. To add, different scenes in the movie also draws on the watcher's attention. On the other hand, the speed of the film is mostly consistent. Although, at times the director uses fast cuts to make the action move quickly. For example, when the characters are playing football many of the scenes are cut to display that the actors are moving fast on the field. In addition, serious scenes are never cut because the director wants watchers to feel the severity of certain situations. So, watchers get to see exactly how everything plays out. Thus, watchers getting to understand Julius’ character and of why he hated white people, which was because of his
