Reconstruction happened in 1877 and it was basically the rebuilding and the reconstruction of the southern United States. The reason the United States needed reconstruction was because most of the southern states were destroyed during the civil war. Reconstruction lasted from 1865 to 1877. The reasoning behind it was for the south to get back into the union with the north. The first state to be readmitted to the union was Tennessee and the last state was Georgia. President Andrew Johnson once said ,”The goal to strive for is a poor government but a rich people.”.

Then countries started teaming up together creating a world wide war. The United States had not entered the war until 1941. On December 7, 1941, Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor a naval base located in Hawaii. This caused the United States to go to war. To end the world war the United States had dropped two atom bombs on Japan. In 1945 the United States destroyed the city of Hiroshima and Nagasaki bringing an end to the world war. Albert Einstein once said about war,” As long as there are sovereign nations possessing great power, war is inevitable.”.
On September 11, 2001, two airplanes full of passengers flew into the world trade center in New York. A terrorist organization by the name of Al-Qaeda took credit for the attacks. This attack left 2,996 innocent dead. After this attack the United States went to war with Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. This was one of the worst terrorist attacks on United States soil. President Barack Obama once said,” Even the smallest act of service, the simplest act of kindness, is a way to honor those we lost, a way to reclaim that spirit of unity that followed 9/11.” in remembrance of those we
