In Raiders of the Lost Ark by George Lucas and Philip Kaufman, we see how the story is an example of an Epic. We see how brave and wise Indiana Jones is when he figures out how to get out of situations and how he figures out different ancient articles. Even when he travels around the world like to South America and Nepal and also Cairo. Also ,how he has superhuman abilities such as punching people out of cars and sliding under cars without getting hurt. There also is a lot of supernatural things that happen in the movie such as spirits coming out of the ark and killing all the Nazi soldiers. All of these shows examples of an epic but the places he travel to and the things that he does and what happens help show us the most.
In Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indian Jones travels to Nepal and Cairo, Egypt. In Nepal we meet the character Marion. We meet her in a bar that she owns and where she had the headstone, the headstone Jones was looking for. In the bar Arnold Ernst Toht,a German sinister agent, enters after Jones leaves also looking for the headstone, but Marion doesn’t tell him where it is. When he jumps off a horse onto a moving truck and punched guys out of the truck and didn't have the truck run off the side of the road. Also when Indy slides under the truck climbing his way down and hanging on by his wipe. Even when Jones swims to the Nazi submarine and just comes up one time for air. Also him running through the temple at the beginning of the movie and not getting hit by any arrow and out running a boulder, him just being alive after. Also him and Marion surviving the opening of the ark. Through the movie we see a lot of superhuman abilities.
