Indiana Jones can be considered an epic because it has at least one example for each trait, including the superhuman abilities, the two virtues of bravery and wisdom, and the supernatural entities effecting the affairs of the main character. One trait of an epic is that the main character is superhuman. This is implying that the main character can do things that a normal human cannot. There are several ways that superhuman traits are shown in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Indiana Jones, which is also referred to as Indy, is the main character the movie, and he does things that no other human on Earth is able to accomplish. One example of him showing his superhuman traits was in the beginning of the movie. He goes into a dark cave with an accomplice, where there are traps, skeletons, and a betrayal of trust. Nobody that has ever gone into this cave has ever made it out alive; when Indiana Jones goes into this cave to retrieve the idol, he seems to know where all of the traps are located throughout the cave.
