I think that it is very important to know how development is impacting people at different ages because based on what stage of development they are they will react differently to their experience with cancer. Children who have not yet experienced the development of their brain that occurs in adolescence may not be able to fully understand the seriousness of their disease. This is because their Corpus Collusum is not fully thickened. Knowing that knowledge will help me because it would be better for me as a radiation therapist to not try and scare them with to much information about their cancer because they most likely wont be able to process …show more content…
From what I have learned about cancer up to this point in my career I know that both gene problems and environmental factors also cause cancer. I think it important to know that and share that information with my patients because some patients like to blame their cancer all on bad genes. They don’t realize that some of their lifestyle choices may have resulted in their cancer, so if they never want to experience cancer again they may have to change some of their lifestyle
