A radiation therapists career does include some challenging work both mentally and physically because you sometimes have to assist a person by lifting them and you have to always have a positive mind for the patients. I find that those types of machines are very interesting with how they work and what all they do to see or help ‘heal’ a person. I am that type of person who likes to try and make everyone else happy and positive because that was how I was raised and how I wanted to make a change. Even though cheer-up others may not seem like a change, it is to them because they will always need someone to let them know they have something to fight for. I fell for this career because helping others has always meant a lot to me, especially after I seen how cancer does affect the person and their family. In 2013, my family and I got some of the worst news of our life. My mom got diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma and had apparently had it for awhile, the doctors just did not see any abnormality in blo0d work or anything. When you are only 14 years old and get that news, it’s devastating because you never know what can happen. We all did our best to stay positive and supportive for my mom and just simply be there. I got to go with her once in awhile to the cancer center. Although it was under bad circumstances, it was different getting the experience of seeing all the people and everything going on. But what really made me happy was the nurses and the rest of the employees there making the patient's smile and trying to just simply make them a little more happy. Because of that, it led me in the
