In the 1900s, Rosa Parks, an African American lady, was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama for refusing to give up her seat so that a white passenger could have a seat. Parks arrest led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. During this boycott, the African American citizens of Montgomery refused to ride the city's buses in protest over the racial segregation policy of the buses. Many people are not aware of how much racism still exists in our schools, workforces, and other places where social lives are occurring. It is obvious that racism is as bad as it was many, many decades ago. An individual cannot be born racist but only learn to be one as they grow into adulthood. It is the racist caregivers that raise the children that instill racism into them.
