Essay On Racism In America

There has been much racism in the past. And just like there is racism in the past, there is still a lot of racism that exists today. In the past there has been a lot of racism in America. In our past there was a time where white people thought it was as common as breathing to be racist to black people. In the 1930's Black people were separated from the whites. They had different movie theaters, different bathrooms, different drinking fountains and different seats at baseball games. They also were required to sit in the very back of buses and public transportation, behind the whites. There was a woman named Rosa Parks that stood up for blacks. She was on a bus one day and she was asked to move to a seat farther back so that a white could take her seat. She refused to move and she said “No.” when she was asked to leave the seat. Later the police came and arrested her for not moving. This was a big inspiration to blacks, and a big deal in the history of America’s racism to blacks. There was also a black man that was recognized for being excellent in baseball, his name was Jackie Robinson. He was treated poorly and was hated because of his color. There are many different cases of racism. Germany was doing poorly after they were blamed for World War 1 and forced to pay for all of the damage and destruction of the war.
