Race and gender are important to everyone because it represents a person identity in the society. Race is a concept to identify different types of human bodies and gender is something that represent the physical differences between male and female in the society. There are many different types of race and gender social issues in the society. In society, people still need to face race and gender problems in their life. In this paper, I will focus the social problems of how race and gender cause and affect people in the society. Race and gender inequality still insist in today’s social world.
According to Omi and Winant, race is seen in racial formation. Ration formation created by the racial classification, live, alteration, and destruction of the social and the historical process. (Omi and Winant 349). Racial projects is central in the racial formation of Omi and Winant. Racial projects are central to Omi and Winant of racial formation. Omi and Winant state that there is macro-social level in racial projects. Macro-social level focus in social structure such as race (Omi and Winant 352). One of the factor of racial formation is Chinese-American identity. Many Chinese-American face race identity in United States. In my personal experience, I face race identity in United States. My parents immigrated to United States many years ago. I was born in America. At the age of 7, my parents took me and moved to Hong Kong. I have been raised in Hong Kong for many years. I consider and identify myself as Chinese. I came back to America a few years ago. Some people identify me as Chinese-American instead of Chinese. Therefore, I realize …show more content…
There is injustice for the people who suffer gender and race social problems. In my opinion, media is a useful communication tool for people to share and discuss about these issues to the public. It is a good way to let more people know about this
