“Psychological invalidation is one of the most lethal forms of emotional abuse. It kills confidence, creativity and individuality.” When people abuse others they don’t see the bad things they are doing. There are effects to bullying and sometimes it’s someone taking their life. Kids hurt others and they don’t even realize what bad things they do. “All four of September’s bullying-related suicides involved young people who were either out of the closet or were assumed gay” [Cloud page 3]. In other words the kids that weren’t trying to keep their sexuailty a secrect were being harassed by who they like. People that get picked on have a better chance of hurting themselves than others do. Young people that are messed with on the internet get easily hurt [Kaplan par 2]. “Bullies are affected too, even into adulthood; they may have difficulty forming positive relationships” [Wilhelm par 5]. This is important because it shows that victims of bullying aren’t the only people that are affected in life. It is hard for kids to defend themselves when they think low or bad about themselves and when they don’t talk to other people [Wilheim par 3]. This is important because if you think low of yourself and don’t have anyone to talk to you start to think that no one likes you or cares about you and that’s not something someone wants to feel. “If your child is the victim of bullying, he may suffer physically and emotionally, and his schoolwork will likely show it [Wilheim par 4]. In other words when you bully someone their moods change and the effort they put into school would no longer be as good at it was before.
