Every workplace has a dress code, some may have uniforms, where everyone wears the same outfit, or some may have a dress code where you wear business clothes. During the holiday season of 2014 and at the moment, I’ve worked at a Kohl’s store near my home. As a sales floor employee at Kohl’s, I wear business attire while I work. The dress code is very much the same to me as it is at Minneapolis Business College. The dress code consists on closed shoes, dresses that go past your fingertips, and shirts that aren’t revealing. That dress code helps customers find someone who can help him or her if they need it and the customers look at you with trust. The dress code isn’t based on a uniform, so you do have some freedom to express yourself at the same time too. Though, there are some places that don’t have a dress code like Kohl’s. Stores like Hot Topic, which doesn’t have a dress code like Kohl’s, has a different feel to me. The couple times I’ve been at a Hot Topic store, I feel less open than at Kohl’s. In a Hot Topic store, the employees wear casual clothes, and the store always seems dark. Sure, the employees are able to express their personalities while they work, but it isn’t like my experience going into a Kohl’s
